THE evolve APPROACH

CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) and ITC (Invitation To Change) are evidence-based approaches that we use at Evolve.

The Evolve Approach is based on these principles:

  • empathy

  • collaborating with our loved one

  • meeting our person where they are at

  • reinforcing positive actions and changes

  • focusing on communication

  • work to stay connected and supportive

There is more than one way to recover. Just as each person is unique, so are their own set of needs.

We work on ourselves — learning how to be supportive, how to communicate positively, how to reinforce positive behaviors, and becoming aware of our own needs — making it a priority to take care of ourselves.

There is not a cure for addiction; therefore, the skills learned through a family’s own recovery process sets them up to learn to manage and support their loved one as they navigate their journey with addiction and hopefully recovery.
